“Black is not a dirty word” explores racism/police brutality and suppression through an original cutting of multiple genres of writing including poetry, prose, music and reporting. It’s about power. It is about fighting back! It is about being black. Calvin attends Battle Mountain High School in Edwards, Colorado. He brought home a Colorado State Championship title with this Program Oral Interpretation. He represented Colorado and BMHS at Nationals performing this piece!!
